Insert Paragraph about capstone summary
My personal experiences as a refugee from Somalia coupled with my interest in health disparities sparked my desire to pursue a career in health sciences. My passion for health sciences was also sparked by my desire to understand and address the distrust between the medical community and many vulnerable populations. With the help of my passion and the guidance of the University of Minnesota Rochester, I have strengthened my knowledge and drive to continue to address the underlying factors of health disparities.

This webpage is a compilation of all of my capstone activities during the year of 2015-2016. The activities that I engaged in during this year can be grouped into three components. The first component of my capstone experiences revolve around my desire to increase my scientific literacy through coursework and research. Additionally, I enrolled in a diverse range of upper level humanities courses to better appreciate and utilize the different sociological perspectives that different minority groups have. Lastly, I participated in two community service projects to engage specifically with individuals from the Somali community. All of my capstone experiences aim to understand and cultivate the tools necessary to begin to bridge the gap between the health care system and vulnerable populations
